The course is self-paced but it is our aim to make you facilitation-ready as quickly as possible. We won’t waste your time with pointless exercises and tasks that don’t contribute to you becoming a confident facilitator. We estimate that you can complete the course and be ready to facilitate your first workshop within 90 days, without stress. Most Workshoppers take on average 90 days and continue to join the coaching calls and be active in the community afterwards (this is the most valuable part of the course)

This is a new category, so workshop and facilitator job descriptions can vary from company to company, as well as between industries. You’ll often find a range of different job titles which, although they may not contain the word “facilitation” at all, require the skills and traits of a facilitator and describe similar responsibilities and duties. Examples of this are Agile Coach, Design Trainer and Innovation Lead. Inside the program, we teach you how to set alerts for suitable job openings and the tactics you can use to secure interviews.

Most modern laptops and desktops will be enough to run the course and access the resources. You’ll need a Zoom account to take part in the weekly coaching calls, and we provide workshop templates in Miro (the latest system requirements can be found here)

We’ve designed the course to be beneficial both to people who are just starting out, and those who are already familiar with Workshopping and facilitation.

The course materials take you through absolutely everything, start to finish. If you’re already making a living as a facilitator then you will find some of the opening lessons to be more like “refreshers.” But everyone’s facilitation experience and story are different and taking the time to hear ours will at the very least give you a fresh perspective. We point out some very common mistakes or “blockages” and shine a spotlight on what we now understand through experience to be genuine facilitation hacks.

Design Sprint Masterclass is focused on teaching you how to run remote and in-person Design Sprints with confidence. It has all the tools, tactics, and resources on how to run the sprint from start to finish. No, you can jump right in today. 

This isn’t high school so we don’t have ‘formal’ exercises that you need to complete and submit. There are no restrictions or requirements to unlock content. We want you to move at your own pace and jump around according to your individual needs and curiosity. Your learning “flow” is the most important measurement for us so we make sure you have everything you need.

Some providers teach facilitation but don’t “live” it, which is to say their day-to-day experience providing facilitation services is limited and their practical insight has plateaued. Before we began teaching facilitation at AJ&Smart, we built a business providing facilitation services for some of the biggest companies in the world.
